Term Time Leave of Absences
In September 2013, the Education (Pupil Registration) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2013 came into force. These regulations make it clear that Headteachers should not grant approval for any leave of absence during term-time, including holidays, unless there are exceptional circumstances. These regulations also state that holidays cannot be authorised retrospectively.
Any requests for consideration should completed using the following link and should be prior to any holiday/leave arrangements being made: https://forms.office.com/r/cpN6SUfhWT. This link can also be requested at any time. Please note, requests should be received with a minimum of two weeks’ notice.
You may be issued with a Penalty Notice should leave be taken which is not authorised. If unpaid this could lead to prosecution under section 444(1) of The Education Act 1996.
Absence due to Illness
If your child is ill, please notify school as soon as possible by telephone so that we can inform the class teacher. We have an absence voicemail on the school telephone system, so please leave any messages regarding absence/illness on this.
Please do not email regarding absences as these can be missed by going into junk mail.
If you do not make contact with the school before 9.30 am you will receive a welfare message via ParentHub to remind you to let us know where your child is.
For medical and dental appointments, where possible, please make these outside of school hours. If your child does need to attend an appointment during school hours, please inform the office in advance of the date and time you will be collecting your child and also if they will still require a lunch should they be arriving late after a morning appointment. Please email appointment letters/texts to email@example.com prior to the appointment.
